MOD (Civilian Staff) CMS LTD came into operation in the month of Sept., 1988 . It was first registered as MOD (Civilian Staff) Coop Thrift and Credit Society Ltd. The founding fathers are Chief CCC Obi, late Alh. G A Kasim, Mr. A S Sobukonla and Mr. S A Omosebi.
The society was purely established to meet financial challenges of the civilian populace working in Ministry of Defence with an initial donation of #10,000= from the Director of Accounts from MOD. The society recorded steady growth in membership and in financial contributions for the first decade. By the year 2003, MOD CTCS Ltd has added more packages to her teaming population by securing two landed properties in (1) MOD Estate in Imowo-Nla, Ikorodu, Lagos and (2) MOD Estate in Benja Quarters, beside Living Faith Church (Winners) Sango Otta, Ogun State.
Consequent upon the acquisition of landed properties for members coupled with the vibrant introduction of Commodities/House-hold Consumable shoppings, there was heavy pressure from the Director of Cooperatives in Lagos State that MOD CTCS LTD should be changed to a multipurpose society. So on 23rd March , 2005; the society was licensed to operate as Ministry of Defence (Civilian Staff) Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited with registration number LCSC 1116.
Today, the society has computerized her operations, opened a major office in national headquarter – Ministry of Defence, Ship House, Garki, Abuja. In addition, MOD CMS Ltd has acquired more landed properties for her esteemed members in different parts of our country among which are: (3) MOD Estates in Ogun State – Ijegun village; Oriyanrin, Ibafo by Pakuro Bus Stop (4) MOD Estates, Sango Otta – Iyana Iyesi, Ilasa village in Ogun State (5) MOD Estate, Gwagwalada beside CKC District in Abuja (6) MOD Estate, Karshi in Nasarawa State very close to FCT and (7) MOD Estate in Iroko Town, Ibadan in Oyo state.
The society has began to assist members to develop their landed properties into a living accommodation.
It’s also worthy to mention that MOD CMS LTD has branched into Agro based Industry being the first cooperative society to key into Green house vegetable production in Lagos state. Her vegetable products are sold to members , shopping malls and departmental shops in Lagos Island and its environs.

The society has membership across the length and breadth of Nigeria. Our monthly loan disbursements to members ranges above #80 million
Very soon, the society will launch her automated water / fruit Juice processing and bottling company in Ota, Ogun state.
